A positive force in the Marine City community has passed away. Gary William Kohs, known locally as owner of the Mariner Theater, is being remembered for helping to make Marine City a destination city in recent years. Kohs purchased the Mariner building in 2015 as a venue to screen independent films and display his model replicas, including one of the Titanic. Marine City mayor Dave Vandenbossche, speaking to WPHM, says Kohs helped to make Marine City what it is today. Kohs was 73 years old. Visitation will be held tomorrow from 11am to 5pm at the Bower Rose Funeral Home in Marine City.
