The St. Clair County Heath Department says their COVID-19 vaccine preregistration system will be ready by Friday. Dr. Annette Mercatante, the county’s medical health officer, says those who sign up on the list will be notified about future vaccine clinics by either email, phone, or text. The health department is also working on establishing a vaccine hotline for those without computer access. Dr. Mercatante tells WPHM’s Paul Miller the waiting list still won’t fix the issue of limited supply. This week, Mercatante says her office received about 1,000 first round and nearly 2,000 second doses of the vaccine.
