Local judge races are beginning to shape up. According to the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office, the 72nd District judgeship is the only contested judicial position in the county this year. Mona Armstrong, who was appointed to that position to fill the vacancy left by Cynthia Platzer, will be challenged by Caryn VanderHeuvel. Elwood Brown is running unopposed for St. Clair County Probate Judge. Dan Damman is unopposed in running for 31st Circuit Court judge. There are not enough candidates to justify an August primary, so all will appear on the November 3rd ballot.
