Officials at the U.S.-Canada border are reminding travelers that border remains open but to essential traffic only. This comes ahead of the Easter weekend, where many families and worshipers would cross the border for the holiday. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, border crossings such as Port Huron’s Blue Water Bridge have remained open but only for essential workers such as healthcare professionals and commercial drivers. Those crossing the border for recreation or leisure will not be permitted.
