The Port Huron Fire Department has concluded their investigation of a fire earlier this month that claimed the life a 64 year old man. Fire crews were called to a home at 918 Erie Street in the early morning hours of Saturday January 4th. Firefighters discovered the man in one of the home’s four apartment units and he was taken to an area hospital where the victim was pronounced dead. The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, most likely from flammables in close proximity to the stove top.  Investigations continue however into the cause of the man’s death, which is still under review by the St. Clair County Medical Examiner.
