Gas prices are taking a bit of a reprieve following the holidays. According to AAA of Michigan, the current statewide average daily gas price has fallen about 7 cents to $2.53 a gallon. The most expensive gas in the state can once again be found in Ann Arbor where it is $2.60 a gallon and the least expensive is in the northern Lower Peninsula where gas is about $2.34 a gallon. “Many motorists across the nation saw gas prices increase last week as a record number of travelers hit the road for the year-end holidays,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. “Michigan drivers are now seeing a decrease in prices following the holidays.” Sanilac, Lapeer, and Macomb counties are all around $2.54 per gallon for a regular unleaded. St. Clair County pumps are slightly lower, asking about $2.51 on average.
