Motorist injured after allegedly falling asleep while driving

A Sanilac County woman injured in a crash involving a utility pole Wednesday is believed to have fell asleep at the wheel. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s office, 36 year old Jennifer Daney from Fairgrove was traveling east on M-46 around 10am Wednesday morning when her vehicle left the roadway. The car struck a utility pole guy wire, causing the pole to break in half. One of the sections of pole struck the vehicle, injuring the woman and bringing the vehicle to a halt. She was taken to a Sandusky hospital for further treatment. Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted assisted by the Moore Township Fire Department at the scene of the crash.
