Dozens of recreation development projects in the state are in line to get thousands of dollars from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. 60 projects were recommended to receive funding. Approximately $430,000 could go towards for the acquisition of land in Caseville to provide access to the Pigeon River and Lake Huron. About $300,000 would be used to upgrade campgrounds at the Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba. Nearly $3 million dollars will be used to upgrade and add more biking and walking trails in and around Belle Isle in Detroit. All of the the recommendations need to be approved by the state legislature and the Governor.
