Expect to see some unusual activity at Lakeside Beach in Port Huron this weekend. Saturday at noon, hundreds of participants, many in costume, will take a dip into the frigid Lake Huron waters for a good cause. It’s the 17th annual Polar Bear Plunge and Michelle Shepley of the Port Huron Kiwanis Club says it’s always a popular event. Registration starts at 11 a.m. tomorrow with the plunge occurring at high noon. Proceeds from the plungers benefit the local Kiwanis club and participants can also split their funds raised with other area non-profit agencies. Those who raise in excess of $1000 get to keep 60% of their funds and split 40% with the Kiwanis club.
