A local congressman calling on the governments of Canada and Ontario to help provide funding for the Blue Water Ferry Dock in Sombra that was damaged by ice flows on the St. Clair River. Representative Paul Mitchell, in a letter sent to Canadian Ambassador David MacNaughton, calls for action form Canada in helping to repair the dock. Mitchell says “tens of thousands of cars, trucks, and pedestrians each year and generates millions of dollars of economic activity.” Since January 2018, the Blue Water Ferry, which connects Marine City to Sombra has been inoperable.
