Michigan State rolled to a 77-45 win over Rider ob Thanksgiving in the Orlando Classic in Florida.  State will play either Georgia Tech or Marquette on Friday.  The Spartans were led by Denzel Valentine, who had a career best 19 points.  Bryn Forbes added 15.
The Detroit Lions bounced back with a 34-17 win on Thanksgiving Day over the Chicago Bears.  Matthew Stafford threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns,  both to Calvin Johnson, who had 146 yards and 11 catches.  Joique Bell added 91 yards rushing and also had a pair of touchdowns.  Detroit is home to Tampa Bay a week from Sunday.
Pavel Datsyuk returned to the line up and scored two goals as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 on Wednesday night.  Stephen Weiss had a goal and an assist, while Tomas Jurco and Henrik Zetterberg each had a goal.  The Red Wings have won two in a row and play in New Jersey on Friday.
Make it six losses in a row for the Detroit Pistons, who fell 104-98 to the L.A. Clippers at the Palace on Wednesday night.  It was another 4th quarter collapse for the Pistons, who led by 73-72 after three.  DJ Augustin scored 19, while Josh Smith, Andre Drummond, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope all added 17 points.  The Pistons host Milwaukee on Friday.
