Nick Castellanos broke up a no hitter with a single in the eighth inning on Friday night, but the Tigers managed just four hits total and loss 4-1 to the Royals in Kansas City.  Kendrys Morales drove in three runs for the Royals, who have won the first two games  of a four game series.  Game three is set for Saturday night.
The Detroit Lions traded the 23rd pick in the NFL draft to the Denver Broncos on Thursday night to acquire offensive lineman Manny Ramirez, the Broncos first pick at #28, which they used to take guard Laken Tomlison of Duke, and two 5th round picks, one this season and one next season.  Ramirez began his career as a Lion, playing parts of three seasons after being drafted in 2007.  He
Kansas City came out swinging and beat the Tigers 8-1 on Thursday night in the first game of a four game series in KC.  The win moves the Royals into first place a half game ahead of Detroit.  Six different players drove in a run for Kansas City, while Rajai Davis knocked in the lone run for the Tigers.  Game two of the series is set for Friday night.
Ben Bishop made 31 saves to shutout the Detroit Red Wings 2-0 in game seven of a first round playoff series, giving Tampa Bay a 4-3 series victory.  Braydon Coburn and Anton Stralman scored for the Lightning, who will face Montreal on Friday in the start of their second round best-of-seven series.
