Port Huron Township was the scene Tuesday for a standoff between St. Clair County Sheriff Deputies and a suspect in a criminal sexual conduct case that ended peacefully.  Sheriff Tim Donnellon says the suspect, a 28-year old man from Port Huron Township, went into a vacant home along the 25-hundred block of Michigan Road in the morning.  Then, shortly after 8:00 a.m., deputies

The Detroit Tigers acquired right handed relief pitcher Joakim Soria from the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.  In the deal Detroit sent pitching prospects Corey Knebel and Jake Thompson to the Rangers.  Soria has pitched seven years in the majors and has 177 career saves and has struck out more hitters than he has pitched innings.  Soria has a club option on his current contract
Miguel Cabrera, Austin Jackson, and Alex Avila all drove in three runs each, as the Detroit Tigers crushed the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-5 on Wednesday afternoon.  Rajai Davis added three hits and an RBI for the Tigers, who open a four game series in Los Angeles on Thursday night against the Angels.
Phil Coke walked two of the three hitters he pitched to and they both came around to score in the bottom of the eighth, as the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to beat the Detroit tigers 5-4 on Tuesday night in Phoenix.  Torii Hunter had given the Tigers the lead in the top of the inning with a two run single, but the Detroit bullpen gave the runs right back.  The Tigers and D-Backs wrap up
Miguel cabrera singled in the go ahead run in the seventh inning as the Detroit Tigers beat the Arizona DiamondBacks 4-3 in Phoenix on Monday night.  Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson hit home runs for the Tigers, who have won two in a row.  Game two of the inter-league series is Tuesday night.
