The Detroit Red Wings erupted in the third period for three goals, on their way to a huge 6-3 home win over the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. Mike Green, Thomas Vanek, and Gus Nyquist each had a goal and an assist for the Wings, while Henrik Zetterberg, Frans Nielsen, and Andreas Athanasiou all added goals. The Wings are home to Montreal on Monday afternoon.
