A busy off season week for the Detroit Tigers. Monday the Tigers signed veteran right hand pitcher Tyler Ross to a one year deal worth $5.75 million, then on Wednesday the team added veteran middle infielder Jordy Mercer at the same one year price. On Thursday Detroit used the fifth pick in the Rule 5 draft to grab right handed relief pitcher Reed Garrett from the Texas Rangers. Garrett had 61 strikeouts in 61 innings with 16 saves in the minor leagues last season.
