Yale celebrates 30 years of bologna

bolog

It’s a celebration of all thing bologna this weekend in Yale, as festivities are already under way for the 30th annual Yale Bologna Festival. Tonight see’s the crowning of the Bologna King and Queen, followed by the outhouse races down main street in Yale. Tomorrow evening is the Big Bologna Parade, with civil war re-enactments, live music, and a carnival all throughout the weekend. Event organizer Barb Stasik says the festival dates back to 1988 when the city decided to create an annual event to celebrate the city’s bologna making heritage. Stasik says one of the major draws to the festival are the authentic Yale Fried Bologna sandwiches which will be on sale all weekend long.
