The Michigan Department of Transportation is warning drivers about another long-term closure of M-46 in Sanilac County. Starting Monday, the next phase of a $26 million rehabilitation project will close the roadway from Sandusky to Carsonville in both directions. Traffic will be detoured via Ruth, Forester, and Maple Grove Roads. The closure is expected to last through October and includes  resurfacing the roadway and replacing the M-46 bridge over the Black River. The  previous phase of the project, which lasted March through November of last year, closed the main thoroughfare through Sandusky for repaving and upgrades to sewers, sidewalks and traffic signals.
