The annual Larry Manz Memorial High School Hockey Tournament began on Friday at McMorran Arena. Anchor Bay beat Marysville 6-2 in the opening game, behind a 40 save effort from goalie Alec Morin. Ben Newman had two goals and two assists for the Tars, while Jordan Guske added a goal and three assists. Tyler Shoudy dished out two assists for Marysville, while Trevor Shoudy and Nolan Churchill each had a goal. In the second game Port Huron Northern beat Port Huron 13-0. The Huskies were led by the trio of Noah McNutt, Austin Barlass, and Corey Easton, who had 8 goals and 11 assists between them. McNutt and Barlass each had three goals and four assists, while Easton scored twice with three assists. The consolation game between Marysville and Port Huron begins at 1 PM Saturday, followed at 3 PM by the finals.
