St. Clair native Tyler Motte joined Mike McDougall (Port Huron), Jack Campbell (Port Huron), and Chad Billins (Marysville), as players from the Blue Water Area to play in the NHL. On Wednesday night, Motte picked up an assist for his first career point, as his Chicago Blackhawks lost 5-2 to the St. Louis Blues. Motte played 12:16 and fired two shots on goal, was a plus-one, with three hits, a blocked shot, and a take away. Last season Motte finished third in the nation in scoring, while playing for the University of Michigan.
