The Canada Border Services Agency is reporting two major drug busts at the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward.

On August 13th, officers seized 150 kg, or about 330 lbs. of suspected cocaine worth nearly $19 million from a truck heading into Canada. A day later, another 199 kg, or roughly 440 lbs. valued at almost $25 million was discovered in a second truck.

Two Ontario men, 28-year-old Gurjeet Singh of Brampton and 38-year-old Abdikadir Egal, who resides near Toronto, were arrested and turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Both face charges of importing cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The cases are now before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.

So far in 2025, the CBSA says officers at southern Ontario land ports have seized more than 1.5 tons of cocaine coming from the United States, accounting for over 62% of of the region’s drug traffic.
