The St. Clair Art Fair is back this weekend, celebrating its 54th year as one of the region’s longest-running and most popular summer traditions. Hosted by the St. Clair Art Association, the two-day event will take place Saturday, June 28th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 29th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Palmer Park and the St. Clair Riverview Plaza.
More than 130 artists from across the country are expected to take part, offering a wide variety of original, handmade artwork including oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculpture, fiber art, and more. Some artists will also be demonstrating their craft on-site throughout the weekend. St. Clair Art Association Secretary Lori Barney says the fair is a long-standing favorite for both residents and visitors of all ages.
This year’s event will feature food trucks, live music, booths highlighting local nonprofit organizations, and a kid-friendly Creation Station with face painting, sidewalk chalk, and temporary tattoos. Barney says there will also be a surprise project created by local student artist Sophia, which visitors are encouraged to look out for during the fair.
Fairgoers can also visit the St. Clair Art Association’s gallery, which will host a special Members Market exclusively for the art fair weekend, complete with a juried art contest. The gallery will also hold a free raffle for a Meijer gift card. Visitors can enter the raffle on-site, and winners will be drawn on Sunday at 4 p.m. and attendance is not required to win.
The St. Clair Art Fair is free to attend.
