Sarnia Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of indecent exposure incidents reported along the Howard Watson Trail and Wawanosh Wetlands over the past year.

Since August of 2024, police had been investigating complaints of a man on a bicycle exposing himself to women along the trails. In each case, the suspect briefly engaged the women in conversation before exposing himself and riding away.

Last week, police say a woman pushing a stroller on the Howard Watson Trail near Retford Avenue was approached by a man who exposed himself before fleeing. This time, a photo was captured and shared with officers, helping police identify the suspect.

James Dufour, 74, of Sarnia was taken into custody and is facing six counts of committing an indecent act and two counts of exposure to a minor. The charges stem from incidents in 2024 and 2025.

Authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861.
