With accumulating snowfall in the forecast for this evening, Port Huron residents are being reminded of the city’s snow ordinance. The regulation officially went into effect on December 1st and restricts vehicles from being parked on paved city streets between the hours of 2:30am and 6am to allow for possible snow removal. Officers were instructed to pass out warnings to vehicle owners in violation of the ordinance during a five-day grace period, which comes to an end overnight tonight. According to Assistant Police Chief, Jeremy Young, cars will begin to be ticketed and the owners fined 23 dollars for each citation. The snow ordinance remains in effect until March 31st.
