Port Huron Police say one of their officer’s patrol cars was struck by another vehicle over the weekend. It happened during the early morning hours Saturday at the intersection of 24th and Dove Streets. A pickup truck driven by a 52 year old from St. Clair was traveling eastbound on Dove and allegedly disregarded a flashing red light. The truck collided with the police vehicle which was traveling southbound on 24th Street. EMS responded to the scene and took both drivers to an area hospital for treatment, and were later released with only minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was cited for failure to stop at a flashing red light.
