Port Huron to decide next mayor and council

repp-vs-ashford

It’s a 9-way race for three council seats in the City of Port Huron. Incumbents Sherry Archibald, Teri Lamb, and Bob Mosurak are all seeking re-election. They are being challenged by Barbra Payton, Richard Carwile, Holden Gauthier, John Middleton, Brian Farquhar, and Jason Heilig for those three council seats. Port Huron councilmembers serve for a 4-year term.

Incumbent Mayor Pauline Repp is seeking another two year term and is fending off a challenge by councilwoman Anita Ashford. If Ashford is unsuccessful in her mayoral bid, she will remain on city council. If she is successful, council will need to fill her seat with either the next highest vote-getter if they receive at least 25% of the vote, otherwise, council would fill the vacancy by appointment.
