In person early voting is underway across Michigan – just one of several ways to participate in the November 5th general election. Port Huron City Clerk Cyndee Jonseck says the city’s early polling site is located in the lobby of the Municipal Office Center and will be open between 9am and 5pm now through Sunday, November 3rd.
“It is set up like a polling location, so you go through the stations just like you would on election day, you receive your ballot, and you physically put that ballot in a tabulator,” said Jonseck.
For those who prefer to vote absentee, you have multiple options to make sure your ballot is counted.
“They can still return those to my office,” said Jonseck, which is located in the Municipal Office Center and is open weekdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm. “You can bring that into the early voting site, or you can go to your polling site on Tuesday, and physically put that through the tabulator yourself.”
The deadline to submit an application by mail or online to vote absentee is 5pm Friday, after that, you’ll need to request the absentee ballot in person at your local clerk’s office and complete it on site.
Jonseck also says the city’s ten precincts will be open for in person voting on election day, Tuesday, November 5th, from 7am to 8pm.
No matter how you submit your vote, residents will be able to take home one of eight newly-designed “I voted” stickers that were designed by Michigan students.
