
Wednesday’s Rotary International Day Parade is the official kick off to this year’s Blue Water Fest.
The parade will begin at Huron and Glenwood Avenue, continue south through the downtown business district, and turn east on Court Street to the disbanding area. Staging and check in will be on Pine Grove Avenue between Erie Street and Glenwood. In honor of the 100th running of the Bayview Yacht Club Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race, this year’s parade theme is titled “All Hands On Deck – A Century of Sailing”.
Many local city and county offices are closing early tomorrow and there will be n on street parking allowed after 3pm, when Huron Avenue is set to be closed. Streets involved in the festival footprint, including Quay between Michigan and 7th, and Huron between McMorran and Quay, will be closed down on Thursday at 4am. Live parade coverage on 1380 WPHM begins at 6:30pm Wednesday.
