Authorities investigate Port Huron area shooting

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early yesterday morning in Port Huron Township. According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call in the 2400 block of Campau Avenue, near the corner of Marchon Drive, around 4 am Sunday and discovered a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. An investigation led to a home in the 900 block of Howard Street in Port Huron where three suspects were taken into custody and questioned by detectives. Sheriff Matt King commends the efforts of deputies, the Port Huron Major Crimes Unit, and Michigan State Police in apprehending the suspects. Authorities are not releasing any further information at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
