Ramp closure forces detour for local bridge traffic

Getting to Canada from Port Huron just got a little more difficult with the Michigan Department of Transportation announcing a closure of the Pine Grove onramp starting this weekend. With ongoing construction on the bridge causing regular backups heading into Canada, trucks are trying to bypass wait times by using the ramp next to the duty free shop, resulting in backups on Pine Grove Avenue.  MDOT’s solution is to detour motorists onto westbound I-94 all the way to the Range Road exit, where they’ll be instructed to turn around and head back toward the Blue Water Bridge. The Pine Grove ramp closure will be in effect between 9am Thursday mornings through 9am on Saturdays until bridge construction is completed, which is slated to be in mid-October.
