Marysville Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Shawn Wightman’s resignation was made official Thursday during a Board of Education meeting. Speaking with WPHM after the meeting, School Board President, Dave Schmorrow described the process of finding a Wightman’s replacement.
“We will hire Michigan Leadership Institute to put together a national search for a new superintendent,” said Schmorrow. “It’s quite a process finding a new superintendent, it’s probably the most important thing a school board does.”
In the meantime, current Assistant Superintendent, Andrea Glynn will act as Interim Superintendent at Marysville Public Schools. Wightman, who has been with the district for nearly a decade, was not in attendance last night.
