SONS program benefits from recent grants

The  St. Clair County Community Foundation announcing a major grant to benefit the SONS Outreach organization. An award totaling $105,000 will help the faith-based organization with daily operations as well as programs that promote leadership skills, community engagement, and education. The sizable grant originates from the Acheson Donor Advised Fund, the Marion Pollock Moore Fund and other unrestricted endowments belonging to the Community Foundation.
New to their home at the former Harrison Elementary School, SONS directors are hopeful the Community Foundation along with the City of Port Huron are able to secure Michigan DNR Spark grant funding which would go to improve the city-owned space outside the SONS campus, now known as Harrison Pointe Park.
