The Lapeer County Sheriffs Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash that happened Tuesday morning in Mayfield Township. A 73-year-old Brown City man was broadsided by a compact car driven by a 55-year-old woman from Attica, when he failed to stop at the intersection of Roods Lake Road and Daley Road. Both drivers were taken to a Lapeer area hospital, the man succumbing to his injuries two hours later. The woman’s injuries were non-life threatening. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Lapeer City Fire and Rescue, Lapeer County EMS, Michigan State Police, and Lapeer County Reconstruction Team.
