The statewide average gas price has fallen before $4.00 a gallon. AAA of Michigan says the current price for regular unleaded is $3.95 on average statewide, a decline of 9-cents over the past week, and the first time statewide averages have fallen below $4 in almost 5 weeks. Motorists in the Traverse City and Marquette area are paying the highest prices for gas with prices well north the $4-dollar mark still. The lowest prices can be found in Grand Rapids and Lansing, with pumps asking on average $3.87 a gallon. Locally, Port Huron area drivers aren’t as lucky, with average prices at $4.07.
