The City of Port Huron could purchase new playground equipment and approve a bid for more street paving during tonight’s regular session city council meeting. Council members will be asked to purchase play structures for Mansfield Park and Gratiot Parks for a combined cost of nearly $440,000. The new equipment, from Penchura LLC, will be funded in part by grants from the Ralph C. Wilson Junior Foundation, Community Foundation of St. Clair County, and federal COVID-19 relief dollars from the American Rescue Plan.

Also on the agenda is approval of a contract with ACE-Saginaw paving for the resurfacing of 10th Avenue between Holland and Sanborn. City Council could also approve a joint work agreement with DTE Electric Company to reconstruct the pavement of the westerly portion of the Quay Street parking lot and replace the city-owned seawall and sidewalk adjacent to the Zebra Bar. Tonight’s Port Huron City Council Meeting takes place at 7pm at the Municipal Office Center.
