Low flying helicopters will be conducing inspections of high voltage transmission lines in Michigan next week. According to ITC Holdings, the helicopter patrols will begin August 16th in Northern Lower Peninsula counties. The inspections will then shift south to many central and southern Lower Peninsula counties, including St. Clair, Sanilac, Lapeer, and Macomb starting August 23rd. ITC Holdings says the patrols are part of a normal maintenance scheduled in order to further protect the reliability of the electrical grid.
