Gas prices reached a new high for 2021 this past week, according to AAA of Michigan. The auto club says the current average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.20, up 9 cents from a week ago, 18 cents from a month ago, and $1.03 more than this time last year. Over 1.4 million Michiganders are expected to have hit the road this past weekend for the Fourth of July, with the increased demand driving up crude oil prices. St. Clair County area pumps are currently asking approximately $3.18 a gallon for regular unleaded.
