The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a phone scam. Authorities have received several reports from citizens of people text messages that are threatening in nature and seek personal information from the individual. Some of the messages included pictures of guns and severed body parts and threaten the recipient’s life. The scammers seek a payment from the victim of the message and authorities say you should not respond to any messages. Instead, contact local authorities and file a complaint at www.fcc.gov.
