Camera, app lead to recovery of stolen bike

The Port Huron Police Department says security cameras and a neighborhood mobile application are responsible for the recovery of stolen property. Police say a video posted on the Neighbors by Ring app showed a suspect taking a girl’s bicycle from a Port Huron home March 4th. The suspect’s vehicle was also shown in the video which was shared with authorities and to users of the app. With the help of an observer citizen, police say they were able to locate the vehicle and the suspect. The bike was returned to the victim. Police say the would like the citizen who posted about the larceny on the Neighbors by Ring app to call them at 984-8415. Authorities add that they strongly encourage the public to install motion sensing cameras and utilize neighborhood applications like Ring in order to help prevent crime in the community.
