A local hospital has been fined for allegedly not following the state’s coronavirus safety requirements. McLaren Port Huron Hospital was cited Friday by the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration. State officials contend that McLaren, among other things, did not comply with orders regarding face masks and social distancing.  Eric Cecava, President and CEO of McLaren Port Huron, says the health of patients and staff remains the hospital’s top priory. “We have worked closely with MIOSHA through this process to make the necessary adjustments to make sure everyone is safe, including formalizing our practices in written policies,” Cecava said in a statement to WPHM. The fine from the state totaled $6300.
