The City of Port Huron is weighing their options regarding the city’s three current fire stations. Port Huron Mayor Pauline Repp says City Council was presented with the findings of an architectural study during Monday night’s council meeting. One option, says Repp, is to relocate the city’s central fire station from River Street to a location on 10th Street. She says White Park, adjacent to Woodrow Wilson Elementary, could play host to a new building. “It is a large tract of land that we own… it’s called White Park but it’s not used as a park,” said Repp. Another option presented by Redstone Architects Monday would call for a renovation of the city’s three existing fire stations. Repp says nothing yet is set in stone, as the city will still need to hold public hearings and secure funding in order to move forward.
