Former church property to become medical facility

An entire city block in Port Huron’s Old Town neighborhood could become a medial center pending a final approval of a rezoning ordinance by Port Huron City Council. Port Huron Mayor Pauline Repp says Michigan Neurology and Spinal Center would like to move into the former First Congregational Church building. “They currently have a facility right now at 7th and Pine, but they’ve out grown that,” said Repp. “They’re going to put a lot of money into it but keep the historical aspect of the church.” The property is currently zoned for multi-family residential and is bound by 7th, Court, Wall, and 8th Streets. A second reading and enactment of the rezoning request will take place at the October 26 council meeting.
