A fatal three-vehicle accident near Lexington has claimed the life of two. The Sanilac County Sheriff’s office was called to the intersection of East Peck Road and Babcock Road shortly before 4pm Monday afternoon. A work van was traveling east on Peck Road and had rear-ended a Jeep that had stopped to make a left turn onto Babcock. The Jeep then crossed the center line and entered into the path of an oncoming Hummer. The Jeep was operated by a 72 year old man with a 70 year old female passenger, both from Lexington. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. The work van was operated by a 46-year old man from St. Clair County’s Lynn Township, and the hummer was driven by a 17 year old man from Croswell. Investigations into the crash continue and charges could be sought by the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s office.
