Former Tiger Max Scherzer shut down Detroit on Sunday, as the Washington Nationals beat the Tigers 2-1 to take two out of three games in a weekend series at Comerica Park. Scherzer struck out 14 over eight innings, allowing just four hits. Brandon Dixon hit a solo home run to knock in the lone Detroit run. The Tigers play the White Sox in Chicago on Tuesday to open a three game series.
