The Wings traded one of their two fifth round picks to Buffalo, to receive extra picks in both the sixth and seventh rounds from the Sabres. In the two day event, the Wings took 11 players, 5 forwards, 5 defensemen, and one goalie. The Wings drafted seven players from Europe, three from the United States, and one Canadian.
