Authorities in Sanilac County are investigating two separate crashes that occurred this past weekend. On Saturday night, a 16 year old was injured in a single vehicle accident near Deckerville. Sanilac County Sheriffs Deputies tell WPHM the crash happened Saturday evening on Nicol Road near Church Road in Bridgehampton Township. The teenager was driving a sedan that was heading westbound on Nichol Road when she reportedly lost control on the gravel road. Authorities say the car overturned one and a half times before coming to a rest on the vehicle’s side. She was taken to an area hospital for initial treatment and later transferred to a Saginaw hospital for additional care.
Then on Sunday morning, a 41 year old Snover woman was inured in a single vehicle accident near Marlette. Authorities say wet road conditions are believed to have caused the crash near M-53 and M-46 in Lamotte Township. The woman was able to free herself from the overturned vehicle and was treated at the scene by Sanilac EMS. Authorities say she was wearing a seat belt and that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
