The new year will mark the start of a two road construction projects in St. Clair County. Starting Wednesday in Port Huron Township, crews from the St. Clair County Road Commission will replace the culvert on Herber Driver over Stocks Creek. The project will result in a full closure of Herber Driver at Stocks Creek through January 18th. A temporary access road will be posted for local residents to use during construction, and the project will cost approximately $150,000. Meanwhile, Construction on Fisher Road over the Black River in Grant Township will also begin Wednesday. According to the St. Clair County Road Commission, a new single-span truss bridge will replace the Fisher Road Crossing. The project is being funded by the State of Michigan, the St. Clair County Road Commission, and Grant Township. Fisher Road between Cribbins and Gibbons Roads will be closed to through traffic starting Wednesday January 2nd. The approximately $2.3 million project will last through May of 2019.
