Port Huron manufacturer P.J. Wallbank Springs will be teaming up with the Port Huron Area School District to provide real-world science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) experience to local high school students. Superintendent Jamie Cain, making the announcement yesterday on the WPHM morning show with Paul Miller, says it could pave the way to a successful career for Port Huron Schools students. “They (Wallbank) are in need of employees… we are in need of opportunities for our students,” said Cain. “All of our students at Port Huron High School and Port Huron Northern will have unlimited exposure to Wallbank Springs.” Cain also says Wallbank will be sponsoring the new S.T.E.M. lab at Port Huron Northern. P.J. Wallbank Springs manufactures springs and clutches for the automotive industry and is headquartered in Port Huron’s Industrial Park. More information about the partnership and its specifics will be announced in the new calendar year, including a community-reveal of the new P.J. Wallbank Springs, Inc. Engineering Lab at Port Huron Northern.
