You better watch out, you better not cry, and you better not drink and drive! From now through New Year’s Eve, expect to see extra patrols out on the streets for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.” Michigan State Police, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputies, and your local police departments will be out in full force over the next several weeks, watching for impaired motorists. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says his deputies will show, “zero tolerance” for drugged or drunk drivers. The campaign is being funded by the National highway traffic safety administration and the Michigan office of highway safety planning. In 2017, 10,784 people across the nation were killed in drunk driving crashes. In December of last year, 885 people lost their lives countrywide in crashes involving drunk drivers.
