
Port Huron Northern edged St. Clair Shores Lakeview 14-7 in overtime on Friday night to win their first ever football district title in school history. The Huskies equaled a school record with their 10th win of the season. Theo Ellis rushed for 104 yards and scored the game winning touchdown on the first play of overtime, while Austin Eagle preserved the win with an interception on the first Lakeview play of overtime. Seth Klink scored Northern’s other touchdown on a 12 yard run in the first quarter. The Huskies (10-1) will host Warren DeLa Salle (9-2) in the regional next week. In other playoff action on Friday night, Marine City beat Harper Woods 41-27 and will host Detroit Denby in a regional next week, while Almont lost at home to Frankenmuth 28-22 on a last minute touchdown. The Raiders finish the season (10-1).
