
The road worker who was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon along M-25 in Fort Gratiot Township has died. 44 year old Julian Perez of Indianapolis passed away late Thursday morning at McLaren Macomb hospital. He was injured in a pedestrian-vehicle accident while working on M-25 near Carrigan Road. No charges have been brought against the driver of the vehicle at this time.

A construction worker is recovering after being struck by a vehicle on M-25 in Fort Gratiot earlier this week. St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene of a car-pedestrian accident on M-25 just north of Carrigan Road shortly after noon on Tuesday. Upon arrival, a 44 year old Indianapolis man was found unresponsive. Authorities believe a 28 year old Marlette woman was traveling north on M-25 when she drove through he construction zone, striking the road worker. The driver and her husband and children passengers were uninjured. The accident closed M-25 for several hours yesterday afternoon as investigators worked to determine the cause. The construction worker is in critical condition at McLaren Macomb hospital and the incident remains under investigation.
