Down 3-0 early, the Chicago Cubs came back on Tuesday to beat the Detroit Tigers 5-3 in the first game of a two game series in Chicago. Kyle Schwarber hit a home run and Anthony Rizzo knocked in two runs for the Cubs, while Jeimer Candelario, Niko Goodrum, and James McCann drove in runs for the Tigers. The series concludes on the 4th of July with an afternoon game at Wrigley Field.
