The Detroit Tigers selected right hand pitcher Casey Mize with the fist pick in the MLB draft on Monday night. Mize was 10-5 this season at Auburn, posting a 2.95 ERA. In 110 innings this season he struck out 151 hitters while allowing only 12 walks. The Tigers took outfielder Parker Meadows in the second round. Meadows, a high school player in Georgia, is a left hand hitter and is committed to Clemson. The Tigers would loose his rights if he chooses college over turning pro.
